What it means to be a member

When you sign up to become a member of SPAN, you are joining a community of like-minded professionals who want to work and collaborate toward actionable adaptation solutions. There is no fee to join SPAN; we only ask that you fill out a brief membership form and agree to the community terms.

Things you will get as a member of SPAN:

  • Access to the SPAN member portal and directory, which includes the network visualization tool
  • Opportunities to network and meet other SPAN members through virtual meetings, webinars, and events
  • Our quarterly member newsletter
  • Member spotlights and project highlights—share your work and story with the SPAN community

Things we hope you will consider contributing to SPAN:

  • Your time as an active member of this network
  • Openness to receive correspondence from other network members who might want to engage with you around your knowledge and areas(s) of expertise
  • Participation in SPAN events and meetings

Who can become a member

SPAN members are climate adaptation and assessment practitioners and researchers who live and/or work in the US Southwest region (Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, and Tribal Lands and Nations within the region). If this describes you, please consider joining SPAN.

*Note: we want to make this a safe and comfortable space for all our members. In order to do that, we must moderate the requests to join in order to protect our members’ information. We reserve the right to reject requests to join SPAN for any reason if it appears that a request is not in the best interests of our collective online community.
